Biographies Ruth: As a child I sang in school choirs, recitals and holiday performances. My parents passed on a great love of music. I learned to play both piano and violin. Classical was my first love but as I grew older, both folk and rock and roll became my passion. I continued to sing in school choirs and in highschool musicals. After becoming a teacher I lead school choirs and directed and choreographed musicals including Mary Poppins and Oliver. I then began taking stories and turned them into plays to which I would add songs. I chose existing tunes and added lyrics for each play. Many of these were performed for the Annual Jewish Book Fair in Toronto. I sang in a Toronto Israeli choir, Neimot, performing annually at Toronto's Caravan festivals. My love for music continued to blossom as I developed a love of both jazz and country. I was fortunate to join a garage band as a vocalist as we composed many tunes for original songs written by our saxophonist. Taking up the ukulele encouraged me to not only sing harmony, which I so love, but to begin singing the melody. I am thrilled to be singing with my partner, Chuck, now. Our voices blend beautifully as we entertain our audiences. Chuck: I was born in Toronto, and for almost as long as I can remember, I've been singing, playing guitar, and entertaining people. I’m self-taught and simply love performing. I've performed in hundreds of clubs, restaurants, pubs, retirement homes and for private functions. I like nothing better, and I think that I do a pretty decent job at entertaining people. I've found that people enjoy my performances and keep coming back for more. I love all types of music, especially country, folk and popular. I especially like doing requests.
I
know how to entertain an audience and I know how to make people enjoy
themselves. And when they enjoy themselves, they come back again and
again. I am very fortunate to be able to sing with Ruth. She is an immensely talented performer.
